Prices and ratings in the boxes above are Amazon selling prices read on 8 Nov 2026, rounded to the nearest ₹100. Models are the most-rated ones for each brand, shown as examples, not a ranking. Prices quoted in the text below are from the dates given beside them and may differ from today’s Amazon price.

This Bosch vs LG washing machine comparison starts with the motor each brand names and what each promises about it, then sets two current pairs side by side: 9 kg (Bosch WGA244ZTIN, LG FHP1209Z5M) and 8 kg (Bosch WAJ2826DIN, LG FHB1208Z4M), all four listed on their makers’ Indian sites on 30 September 2026. Everything below was read from Bosch India and LG India product pages, spec sheets, a Bosch manual and both warranty pages on 29 and 30 September 2026 unless a line gives another date.

The short answer. Neither brand wins on published evidence. Lean LG if you want a BEE star rating on the page (LG publishes 5 Star for the FHP1209Z5M and FHB1208Z4M; Bosch publishes no BEE rating on any product page we read), one warranty term you can read without guessing a tier, published repair-visit charges, and the lower offer price in both pairs. Lean Bosch if you want 1400 rpm at 9 kg (the LG FHP1209Z5M tops out at 1200, and we could not confirm a current LG 9 kg model at 1400) or a published noise figure. On the motor, LG gives 10 years, parts only; Bosch gives 10 or 9 depending on a tier it does not name for the WGA244ZTIN or the WAJ2826DIN.

The motor question: what Bosch and LG each say

Bosch calls its motor “Eco Silence Drive”. The feature tile appears on 25 of the 38 Bosch India front-load product pages we read (the 37 Bosch lists plus one discontinued model), including the WGA244ZTIN. Bosch’s description, verbatim: “The brushless, energy-efficient motor reduces friction for quiet operation, and we’ve engineered it for an especially long life.” That is Bosch’s claim, with no efficiency or lifespan figure attached. All 38 spec blocks also read “SilentPowerDrive – efficient and extra silent: Yes”.

LG calls its motor a direct drive. The FHP1209Z5M spec lists “Inverter DirectDrive Yes” and “AI DD Yes”; the FHB1208Z4M lists “Inverter DirectDrive Yes” and names “6 Motion DD” in its title. We did not re-read LG’s prose on how the motor is mounted, so this page does not describe it.

What you can actually compare. Noise: of this pair, only Bosch publishes a figure, “54 dB(A) re 1 pW” while washing for the WGA244ZTIN; the LG FHP1209Z5M page we read has none. Efficiency and durability: neither the WGA244ZTIN nor the FHP1209Z5M publishes a per-cycle energy or water figure, or a durability figure, in what we read.

In what we read, the motor warranty is the one motor figure both publish. LG’s warranty table lists “Direct drive motor -10” for front loaders and says extended cover on the “DD motor” does “not include labor, only parts”. Bosch gives 10 years on the motor for front loaders it names as entry models and 9 years for “Mid and Premium” models it does not name. Neither the WGA244ZTIN nor the WAJ2826DIN is on the entry list.

The 9 kg pair: Bosch WGA244ZTIN vs LG FHP1209Z5M

Each column holds only what that brand publishes for that model.

Bosch WGA244ZTIN LG FHP1209Z5M
Capacity 9 kg 9 kg
Max spin 1400 rpm 1200 rpm
BEE star rating Not published “Energy Rating (Wash) 5 Star”
Energy and water per cycle Not on its product page or spec sheet Not in the page text we read
Motor, as named “Eco Silence Drive”; SilentPowerDrive “Inverter DirectDrive”, “AI DD”
Water inlet Cold only (“Hot & cold water intake: No”) “Cold Only”
Heater listed in the spec None None
Heating evidence 2300 W connection rating; manual’s drum clean uses “Cottons 90°” Temperature settings Cold, 20, 30, 40, 60 and 95 °C
Steam No steam row in the spec Page lists both “Steam Yes” and “Steam No”
Drum clean No named cycle; manual: empty Cottons 90° run Page lists both “Tub Clean Yes” and “Tub Clean No”; “Tub Clean Coach Yes”
Noise, washing 54 dB(A) Not published on the page we read
Warranty 2 + 10 or 3 + 9 years, tier not named 2 years product, 10 years motor (parts only)
Offer price, 30 September 2026 (rounded) About ₹44,700 About ₹43,000

Spin is the clearest difference, with a caveat. The LG lists spin settings of 1200/1000/800/600/400/No Spin, so it tops out at 1200 rpm against the Bosch’s 1400. We could not confirm a current LG 9 kg front loader at 1400 rpm. The LG 9 kg model whose page description read 1400 RPM, the FHV1409Z2M, is now marked “suspended” on LG’s own site. Of LG’s other 9 kg front loaders, the FHV1409Z4M does not publish its spin, and we read the rest on 29 September for their MRPs only, not their spin, so this describes what we read, not LG’s whole range.

The BEE comparison cannot be made. Bosch’s WGA244ZTIN spec sheet reads “Energy Star Qualified: Yes”, a different scheme’s label, not a BEE star rating. We searched the 38 Bosch product pages, the category page and six Bosch spec sheets for a BEE rating and found none.

Neither spec lists a heater specification; both fill cold. So any warm wash is heated by the machine itself.

LG’s spec table contradicts itself twice. The FHP1209Z5M spec has two Steam rows, “Yes” and “No”, and two Tub Clean rows, “Yes” and “No”. Confirm with the seller before buying on either feature. Bosch’s WGA244ZTIN manual names no cleaning cycle: run Cottons 90° empty, with oxygen-bleach washing powder or a machine-care agent, after 20 washes at 40 °C or lower, and at least once a year. See how to clean a front loading washing machine.

On price, our arithmetic: the Bosch offer price is about ₹1,700 above the LG’s.

Bosch at 1200 rpm with a named warranty term. Two other 9 kg Bosch models that spin to 1200 rpm, the LG’s top speed, are on Bosch’s named entry list, so they carry 2 years product and 10 years on the motor: the WGA14200IN (about ₹36,100) and the WGA1420TIN (about ₹41,300), offer prices on 30 September 2026. Neither publishes a BEE rating.

The 8 kg pair: Bosch WAJ2826DIN vs LG FHB1208Z4M

Bosch WAJ2826DIN LG FHB1208Z4M
Max spin 1400 rpm 1200 rpm
BEE star rating Not published (spec sheet: “Energy Star Qualified: No”) “Energy Rating (Wash) 5 Star”
Motor, as named Eco Silence Drive / SilentPowerDrive “Inverter DirectDrive”
Water inlet Cold only “Cold Only”
Drum clean Not in the product data we read “Tub Clean Yes”
Noise, washing 53 dB Not checked
Warranty Not on Bosch’s entry list; tier not named 2 years product, 10 years motor (parts only)
Offer price, 30 September 2026 (rounded) About ₹39,300 About ₹38,000

Our arithmetic: the Bosch is about ₹1,300 above the LG, a model-year 2024 machine. A second LG 8 kg, the FHP1208Z5M (about ₹45,300 offer on 30 September 2026), does not publish its maximum spin in the spec we read. For a Bosch 8 kg at 1400 rpm with a named term, the WAJ2826BIN (about ₹36,600 offer on 30 September 2026) is on Bosch’s entry list, about ₹1,400 below the LG FHB1208Z4M by our arithmetic.

Bosch vs LG washing machine warranty: read the rows, not the headline

Front load Product Motor, parts only
Bosch “entry” (models named) 2 years 10 years
Bosch “Mid and Premium” (models not named) 3 years 9 years
LG, front loading fully automatic 2 years Direct drive motor, 10 years

Sources: Bosch India warranty terms, read 30 September 2026, and LG India warranty terms, read 29 September 2026.

Bosch does not say which tier covers the WGA244ZTIN or the WAJ2826DIN. Neither is on its entry list, and its Mid and Premium row says “select 7kg, 7.5kg, 8kg, 9kg and 10kg models” with no list following. So we cannot tell you whether either gets 2 + 10 or 3 + 9. Get the seller’s answer on the invoice or warranty card.

Do not add either brand’s terms together. Bosch’s page contradicts itself: clause 2 says both periods start “from the date of purchase of the appliance”, while a top-load note calls the motor term “additional 8 years warranty (over the standard 2 years)”. It supports no single total. LG’s table does not say either way.

What each excludes. LG’s 2-year cover applies to all parts except the lint filter, knobs, inlet and outlet hoses and top covers. Bosch’s does not cover “consumables, normal wear & tear parts, plastic, glass and/ or rubber parts”, and heads its motor column “applicable only on the parts mentioned”.

What a visit costs. LG publishes front-load repair-visit charges, effective 17 February 2026: carry-in 600, in-home 750, transport 600 (no currency sign in LG’s table; the same page prints rupees elsewhere), with “All applicable taxes are additional”. Bosch publishes no amounts; its general terms say “after the Standard Warranty Period, visiting charges will be applicable for all visits”. LG also says on-site warranty service does not apply beyond the municipal limits of its authorised service centre’s jurisdiction; there, you take the unit in at your own cost and risk.

Bosch vs LG washing machine prices, as of September 2026

Brand, front load Basis Band Read
Bosch Offer price, 14 in-stock models showing an MRP ₹30,690 to ₹48,990 30 September 2026
Bosch MRP, product pages showing one ₹35,090 to ₹89,190 30 September 2026
LG MRP, all 37 LG front-load product pages ₹42,490 to ₹1,01,490 29 September 2026

Do not compare a Bosch offer price with an LG MRP. On the 9 kg pair on 30 September 2026, by our arithmetic, Bosch’s MRP (about ₹67,600) sat about ₹22,900 above its own offer price, and LG’s (about ₹66,000) about ₹23,000 above its own. We have no LG offer-price band: the LG pages we checked for an offer price on 29 September carried none, and the LG MRP band spans model years 2022 to 2026, so it is a catalogue band, not a “currently on sale” one.

What we could not verify

  • A BEE rating for any Bosch front loader on the 38 product pages, category page or six spec sheets we read.
  • Per-cycle energy and water for the WGA244ZTIN, WAJ2826DIN and FHP1209Z5M, in what we read. Two other Bosch spec sheets we read do publish them.
  • An LG noise figure on the FHP1209Z5M page; we did not check the FHB1208Z4M.
  • A current LG 9 kg front loader at 1400 rpm, and the FHP1208Z5M’s maximum spin.
  • Whether LG’s FHP1209Z5M has steam and Tub Clean, given its page lists both answers.
  • Which Bosch warranty tier covers the WGA244ZTIN or WAJ2826DIN, and whether Bosch’s additional term runs alongside or after the standard one.
  • Bosch repair amounts, an LG offer-price band, service-centre counts (none on the Bosch services page we checked on 13 September or the LG support pages we checked on 29 September) and any reliability data for either brand.

FAQs

Is LG better than Bosch washing machine?

Not on anything either brand publishes. If a BEE rating, one readable warranty term and published visit charges matter most, LG publishes all three for the FHP1209Z5M and FHB1208Z4M. If 1400 rpm at 9 kg or a published noise figure matters most, the Bosch WGA244ZTIN publishes both. In both pairs, the LG offer price was lower on 30 September 2026.

Which is the best washing machine, IFB or Bosch or LG?

We name no winner. This page covers Bosch against LG; for IFB against LG, including IFB’s longer product warranty than LG’s, see IFB vs LG washing machine. For any of the three, compare the warranty rows, spin speed and whether a BEE rating is published for your exact model.
