KENT Digital Air FryerCheck price ↗Every maker product page we read promises less oil or fat. The percentages differ, and so does what they are measured against. Before naming the best air fryer for an Indian kitchen, we read each maker’s oil or fat claim word for word and set it beside the Amazon listing. That claims audit is the centre of this page. Our set is 16 air fryers, and each verdict names the table column that decides it.

The claims audit: what “less oil” means on each maker’s page
The makers’ wording, read on 30 September 2026. “Comparator” is what the percentage is measured against. We quote these claims; we have not checked any of them.
| Maker (models in our set) | Exact wording on the maker’s page | Comparator stated | Oil or fat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Philips (NA120/00, NA231/00) | “up to 90% less fat” | Footnote: “Compared to homemade fries cooked in a conventional deep fat fryer” | Fat |
| Philips (HD9252/90, HD9200/90) | “up to 90% less fat” | Footnote: “Compared to fresh fries prepared in a Philips conventional fryer” | Fat |
| KENT (Classic 4 L, Digital 5 L, Digital 10 L) | “80% less oil than the traditional method” (Classic, 5 L); “up to 80% less oil” (all three); “oil-free cooking” (Classic, 5 L) | Classic, 5 L: “the traditional method”, undefined | Oil |
| KENT (same three, page FAQs) | “fat and calorie intake by up to 80% compared to traditional deep frying” (Classic, 5 L); “cut down fat consumption by up to 80% compared to deep frying” (10 L) | Named inline; no test or footnote | Fat, the same 80% |
| COSORI (US maker page) | “up to 85% less oil than a traditional deep fryer” | Named inline; no test cited | Oil |
| Instant | “By cooking with 85% less oil for fat-free delicious meals.” | None | Oil |
| SOLARA | “Up to 85% less oil needed”; “Uses up to 70% less oil”; “Reduces fat content by 70-80%”; “100% Oil-Free Cooking” | None | Oil and fat: four figures on one page |
| Ninja (Crispi) | “up to 75% less oil.*” | Asterisk, but no footnote text on the page we saved | Oil |
| AGARO (Regency) | “Healthy cooking with less fat can reduce your fat intake by 90%” | None | Fat intake |
| American Micronic; Cookwell | “little to no oil” (both) | No number | No figure |
| INALSA | Maker site not retrieved; the 30 L Amazon listing says “99% OIL-FREE COOKING” | None | Oil |
How to read it. Only Philips ties its figure to a footnoted comparison, and Philips’ numeric claim is about fat, not oil. COSORI (oil) and KENT (fat) name a comparator inline, with no test or footnote. KENT’s Classic and 5 L oil claim leans on an undefined “traditional method” and reuses the same 80% for fat.
Where Amazon listings change the claim:
- The Philips HD9200/90 listing says “with 90% less oil” in its description and “uses up to 90% less fat” in its highlights. Philips’ own figure is fat only.
- The Instant listing says “Uses 95% Less Oil”; Instant’s page says 85%. The maker wins.
- A “90% less oil” line on the Philips HD9252 page is a customer review, not a Philips claim.

*Amazon price on 30 September 2026, rounded to the nearest ₹100.
“(Amazon listing)”: only the Amazon listing published that value; every value in the two “Amazon only” rows is per the Amazon listing. Pooled: one count shared by a 13-listing KENT family, three of them in this table. Colours: shared by at least two Ninja Crispi colour variants. Unverified: a variation family whose siblings we did not pull, so pooling is unknown. Standalone: the listing’s own count. Other marketplaces: the listing shows reviews from other Amazon countries; the India share cannot be determined. The NA120 and Crispi listings also show a few. Ratings as of 30 September 2026.
How we chose and checked these 16
We pulled Amazon.in results for “air fryer” on 30 September 2026 and kept basket and oven-style models rated 3.8 or higher on at least 300 reviews. We split them by Amazon price (under ₹5,000, ₹5,000-10,000, above ₹10,000) and ranked by review count, with at most four budget rows and two per brand per band. The set reflects rating and review count, not sales. Where a maker page or manual disagrees with the Amazon listing, the maker wins. Method: how we research.
Without the pooled KENT count, the INALSA Tasty Fry DW5.5 5.5 L and AGARO Galaxy 4.5 L would replace the two budget KENT rows, and the Hamilton Beach Smartchoice 7.2 L would replace the KENT 10 L. That covers the proven pool only; we did not recheck the eight unverified families.
Verdicts: the best air fryer for each kitchen
Best basket air fryer overall: Philips HD9252/90

Under ₹5,000: the four budget rows
Full comparison: best air fryer under ₹5,000. Amazon prices as of 30 September 2026.
- Philips NA120/00 (1000 Series) 4.2L: about ₹4,800; maker-confirmed dishwasher-safe, 2 years; 4.3★ (6,178, pooling unverified).
- KENT Classic Hot Air Fryer 4L (product code 116096): about ₹2,800, the lowest in our set; knob timer, 1 year; 4.0★ (4,441, pooled across 13 KENT listings).
- KENT Digital Air Fryer 5L (116178-N): about ₹4,200; KENT’s page says both “family-sized portions” and “single or double servings”; 4.0★ (4,441, pooled across 13 KENT listings).
- Cookwell Air Fryer 5L See-Through Window (CWAF1400W): about ₹3,400; warranty not published; 4.3★ (1,592, standalone).
Four more checks across the 16
- Dishwasher-safe, maker-confirmed: 5 (the four Philips, and SOLARA’s accessories). 5 more are yes on the Amazon listing only, 2 are no on Amazon, 4 are not published. Cleaning steps: how to clean an air fryer.
- Warranty: 9 carry 2 years, 5 carry 1 year (the three KENT, SOLARA, Instant), 2 publish none (Cookwell, INALSA 30 L).
- Coating: 2 carry a maker-stated PFAS or PTFE claim (Ninja Crispi, SOLARA), both the makers’ words.
- Temperature: 11 publish a 200 °C maximum. COSORI’s 230 °C is from its US page; Instant’s 400 °F is per the Amazon listing; Cookwell, Ninja Crispi and INALSA 30 L publish none. Philips’ NA120 and NA231 manuals say: “Do not fry fresh potatoes at a temperature above 180°C (to minimize the production of acrylamide).”
Who should NOT buy an air fryer
- Big-batch cooks and large-cake bakers. Philips’ NA120 manual advises fries “in portions of up to 500 g”; KENT’s Classic manual calls 500 grams “the optimal amount”. KENT’s 10 L manual says to fill a basket only “till 2/3rd of its capacity” and that rising dough “must not touch the heating element”. Look at oven-style models or an OTG: air fryer vs OTG.
- Anyone expecting oil-free food. SOLARA prints “100% Oil-Free Cooking” on the page that also says 85% and 70% less oil; KENT prints “oil-free cooking” on the same page as “80% less oil”. Read those lines together.
How to choose the best air fryer for your household
No maker in our set publishes a litres-per-person table. These are their own headcounts:
| Model | Maker’s wording |
|---|---|
| KENT Classic 4 L and KENT 10 L | “small to medium families of 2-4 members” |
| KENT Digital 5 L | “family-sized portions” and “single or double servings” (same page) |
| COSORI 4.7 L (US page) | “3-5 people”; also “individuals, couples, or small families” |
| American Micronic 6.5 L | “can serve 5-6 persons” |
| SOLARA buying guide | Basket air fryer “2-4 people”; air fryer oven “Family size” |
Then check the table for maker-confirmed dishwasher-safe parts, warranty length and whether the review count is standalone. KENT’s 5 L manual also asks for “a 10A or above socket alone”. Weighing a microwave instead? Read air fryer vs microwave.
What we could not verify
INALSA’s maker site; a COSORI India page; Instant’s wattage, timer and warranty from Instant itself; Cookwell’s temperature, warranty and origin; the footnote behind Ninja’s “75% less oil.*”; SOLARA’s PFAS certificate; the timer maximum for 10 of the 16; and whether the eight “unverified” counts are pooled. The sources we read on 30 September 2026 gave nothing we could cite for these.
FAQs
Which brand of airfryer is the best?
We hold no reliability data, so by criterion: Philips is the only brand in our set that ties its fat figure to a footnoted comparison, and all four Philips models have maker-confirmed dishwasher-safe parts and 2 years’ warranty. KENT has the only dual basket; AGARO the only maker-stated 2-year oven-style warranty.
Which air fryer is best for a family of four?
Going by the makers’ own words, KENT’s Classic 4 L and 10 L (“2-4 members”), COSORI’s 5 qt (“3-5 people”) or American Micronic’s 6.5 L (“5-6 persons”). See the headcount table above.
Which air fryers are not to buy?
We cannot name unreliable models, but these flags are checkable: a less-oil or less-fat percentage with no comparator (Instant, SOLARA, AGARO); a pooled review count (the three KENT rows); no published warranty (Cookwell, INALSA 30 L); dishwasher-safe claimed on the Amazon listing only.
Which air fryer is best, Philips or Faber?
We cannot compare them. No Faber model made our 16: two Faber models (8 L and 6 L) were next in line in the mid band, sharing one 4.4★ count of 911 reviews, and we did not read Faber’s maker pages. We hold no verified Faber specs.
What are the top 5 air fryers in India?
Our five verdicts, each on a stated criterion: Philips HD9252/90, American Micronic 6.5 L, KENT 10 L, AGARO Regency 12 L and Ninja Crispi. They are criterion picks, not a sales ranking.
Conclusion
Philips HD9252/90 for a basket with maker-confirmed specs, American Micronic 6.5 L for the largest single basket, KENT 10 L for two baskets, AGARO Regency 12 L for oven-style cooking with 2 years’ cover, Ninja Crispi for glass. Before paying, read the oil claim’s comparator, the warranty, and whether the review count is pooled.
