LG and Bosch both put “10 years” in front of a dishwasher buyer in India, on different parts. LG’s is 2 years of parts and labour plus 8 more years on the motor, parts only. Bosch’s is anti-rust cover on the inner tub, after you register the machine. Neither is a 10-year warranty on the whole dishwasher. We read both brands’ Indian product pages, spec sheets, manuals and warranty terms on 29 September 2026, and that fine print is where this LG dishwasher vs Bosch comparison starts.
The short answer. Lean LG if you want steam in the wash, a published motor term and published repair charges. Lean Bosch if you want a published energy figure, a named drying system or a built-in option. Entry prices sat within about ₹3,000 on 29 September 2026. On cleaning, drying and reliability we found no independent test data for either brand, so we name no winner.

LG India’s site lists only free-standing machines, so a fair comparison lives in the free-standing, 14 to 15 place segment.
The 10-year warranty: same number, different parts
| LG | Bosch | |
|---|---|---|
| Whole-product warranty | 2 years parts and labour | 2 years |
| The “10-year” part | Motor: 8 more years, parts only | Inner tub: rust-through cover to year 10 from purchase |
| Registration needed | Not stated | Yes, MyBosch |
| Motor term | 10 years total: parts and labour for years 1 and 2, parts only for years 3 to 10 | None in Bosch’s terms |
| Out-of-warranty charges | Published | No amount published |
Every LG dishwasher page carries the same footnote: “10 Year Warranty :- 2 Years Parts & Labour + 8 Years on motor (parts only).” Some of those pages also promise “a 10-year limited warranty on the Direct Drive Motor”, which sounds broader. The footnote is the precise version: after year 2, motor labour is yours to pay.
Bosch’s warranty terms list 2 years for dishwashers plus “8 years (against rust-through on inner tub)”, and its extension page adds: “Register your product to MyBosch to get the warranty extension.” The Bosch dishwasher row carries no motor term. Bosch also voids cover if unsuitable detergents are used.
After warranty, LG publishes dishwasher repair charges of 900 carry-in, 1,000 in-home and 700 transport (no currency symbol printed; rupees by context). Bosch says only that “visiting charges will be applicable for all visits”. Both brands put extra expenses on you if the machine is installed beyond municipal limits.
Energy, water and the missing BEE label
There is no BEE star label for dishwashers. They appear on neither the Mandatory nor the Voluntary list on BEE’s star-label portal (checked 29 September 2026), and neither brand claims a BEE rating on any dishwasher page, spec sheet or manual we searched. Bosch’s spec sheets carry the EU label instead, which is not an Indian rating; one (SMS6ZCW37Q) prints both “C” and “A+++” because the EU rescaled its label in March 2021.
The real gap is energy. The five Bosch India spec sheets we read give EU Eco figures working out to 0.75 to 1.04 kWh per cycle (for one model, SMS6ZCW37Q, the sheet prints both 75 kWh per 100 cycles and 183 kWh a year, which by our division work out to 0.75 and 0.83 kWh per cycle; the range uses the lower). LG publishes no kWh-per-cycle figure on any LG product page, spec table or either LG manual we read, and we do not estimate one from wattage.
Water is published on different bases. LG lists 9.6 L on two 15-place models (DFB335HM, DFB435FV) without naming the programme; Bosch lists 9.0 to 9.5 L on its 14 and 15 place models, on the EU Eco programme. LG names no test programme for its figure, so we do not rank them.
LG vs Bosch dishwasher price bands and the MRP trap
As of September 2026, brand storefronts, 14 to 15 place free-standing:
- LG: about ₹55,000 to ₹76,000
- Bosch: about ₹52,000 to ₹70,000, with the Zeolith SMS6ZCW37Q at about ₹1,08,000
The lowest-priced Bosch on its storefront (SMS66GI01I, about ₹52,000) and the lowest-priced LG with a live price (DFB424FP, about ₹55,000) were within about ₹3,000 on 29 September 2026. “Bosch is the premium brand” does not hold at the entry point.
The trap is the crossed-out price. LG’s offer prices ran about 28 to 31% below LG’s MSRP; Bosch’s discounted prices ran about 14% below its MRP. DFB424FP’s MSRP (₹78,999) sat about ₹18,500 above SMS66GI01I’s MRP (₹60,490), while their selling prices were about ₹3,000 apart. Compare selling prices.
A like-for-like pair: LG DFB532FP vs Bosch SMS6IKI01I
Both are free-standing, 14 place settings, and each was listed at about ₹55,000 on its brand storefront on 29 September 2026, less than ₹50 apart.
| LG DFB532FP | Bosch SMS6IKI01I | |
|---|---|---|
| MSRP / MRP | ₹76,499 | ₹63,990 |
| Noise | 46 dBA, no basis stated | 48 dB, no basis stated |
| Water per cycle | Not published | 9.5 L, EU Eco |
| Energy per cycle | Not published | 0.84 kWh, derived |
| Drying system | Type not named | Inherent heat |
| Steam | TrueSteam | Steam in pre-wash, per spec sheet |
| Water softener | Yes, per LG manual | Yes |
| Rated power | 1600-1800 W | 2400 W connection rating |
| Inlet hose length | Not published | 150 cm |
| Warranty | 2 years + 8 years motor, parts only | 2 years + tub rust cover to year 10, registered |
“Not published” means we searched the brand’s own pages and documents and found no figure. The 0.84 kWh is our division of Bosch’s annual figure (184 kWh over 220 cycles), the method Bosch’s own sheets match for two other models.
Steam vs drying, hard water and noise as published
Steam or drying. LG’s differentiator is TrueSteam, which LG says reduces water spots, based on “LG internal test methods”. Bosch offers a choice of drying systems instead: heat exchanger, inherent heat, or Zeolith on one model. LG does not name its drying system type anywhere we read.
Hard water and detergent. Both use a salt-regenerated water softener. LG’s manuals give 5 hardness settings (H0 to H4); the Bosch manual we read gives 8 (H:00 to H:07), in different units. Both brands forbid hand dishwashing liquid because it foams. LG’s manual line “Never use liquid dishwashing detergent” means hand dish liquid; liquid detergent made for dishwashers is one of three forms LG’s FAQ allows.
Noise. The quietest published figures are LG’s 41 dBA (its 15-place models, from LG’s internal test with Energy Saver and Auto Open Door on) and Bosch’s 42 dB(A) (SMS6ZCW37Q, SMS6HMI01I). Different labs and settings: published claims, not a ranking.
Read the spec table, not the headline
- LG markets “four spray arms”; LG’s own spec tables list 3.
- LG’s 14-place pages answer a 15-place FAQ with a 15-place utensil count.
- Bosch’s SMS66GI01I spec sheet prints both 14 and 13 place settings, and both 9.5 L and 13 L.
- Bosch’s India buying guide describes countertop, 45 cm slimline and compact dishwashers; none appears on bosch-home.in.
Both brands’ claims about Indian utensils and masala stains are marketing, not findings.
What we could not verify
- Cleaning, drying or reliability. We found no independent test data for any model, so no winner is declared.
- LG energy per cycle, and the programme behind LG’s 9.6 L.
- A Bosch motor warranty. None appears in Bosch’s terms.
- Service-centre counts. We searched both brands’ support, locator, contact and warranty pages and found no number, the same absence as in our LG vs Samsung washing machine comparison.
- Flipkart prices and BIS standards, which we did not check.
FAQs
Which dishwasher is better in India, Bosch or LG?
Neither, on the published evidence. LG offers steam, a motor term and published repair charges; Bosch publishes energy figures, names its drying systems and sells built-in models. Entry prices were within about ₹3,000 as of September 2026.
Which brand of dishwasher is the most reliable?
We cannot say. We found no reliability data from either brand in the pages and manuals we read, and no independent testing. The warranties show only where each puts its long promise: LG on the motor, parts only; Bosch on inner-tub rust.
What is the lifespan of a Bosch dishwasher?
Bosch does not publish one on the pages we read. Its only 10-year figure is inner-tub anti-rust cover after MyBosch registration, a warranty term, not a lifespan.
